First pictures of me and Aaron painting the images onto the van. We used the projecter to project our images onto the van and then we painted over it using waterproof paint.
The owner of the van liked Sunflowers and Dragonflies so i thought i would add a Dragonfly hovering over the top of the Sunflower which gave it an impression of a fantasy landscape.
The bottom picture is me and Aaron and what the van looked like when it was finished.

3/6/2008 - Johhny Rotten portrait
Today we began by painting over our old coloured shapes with brighter colours so it would be brighter and stand out more. Then we projected the picture of Johhny Rotten on the black board and went over the projection in black paint.
Then we finished it off by writing our names in the top left.
It was great to see the image come together once we started painting over the projection with black paint.
I am pleased with our work.

Today we started off by paiting a big board in black paint and then projected a big picture of Johnny Rotten on the the board and then we started painting on the colour from my collage. As the paint didnt dry, we will have to wait until it dries and then paint Johnny Rotten's face onto the colours on Thursday.

26/6/08 - The Van project
Today is the day when we started doing the van project. A lady called Leah had been in contact with Fairbridge and asked wether there were any young people that wanted to paint her van. Luke had volunteered the arts award students to do it...!
We looked through all the emails that Luke and Leah had written to eachother and picked out all of the things that Leah mentioned she might like on her van.
We then did a brainstorm on the whiteboard and looked at all our options.
I chose to use Planets, Johnny Rotten and the colours gold and silver.
Today we wanted to make some ideas and experiment with some images. I had a look on the internet and found a picture that i liked, printed it out, then photocopied it 5 times. Then i painted the photocopies with watered down coloured paint.
I found a image that i liked by Andy Warhol from his 'Ladies and Gentlemen' collection, and used this as a template for my collage. Then i ripped up the photocopies and stuck them together tomake my final image

27/4/08 - Arts Heroes
Today i researched and studied my chosen artist Xenz using the internet to find out as much information about him as i could. I compiled this infomation in Microsoft word and have posted it below for you to see...
Xenz
Name : Graeme Brusby
Born : 1974 in Hull
Star sign : Scorpio
Based : London
Website : http://www.xenz.org/
Interests : Football, Nike trainers and dogs
Influences : Claude Monet, and films such as Blade Runner
Style of art : Birds and futuristic landscapes by using spray cans
Xenz started off by painting traditional graffiti and began experimenting a more freestyle approach to painting with a spray can. Eventually the typical New York graffiti letter forms that inspired him turned into fantasy worlds and dramatic sky scenes. His style has now become predominantly landscape and features birds, flowers and butterflies.
During the late 90’s he applied for Edinburgh college of art and studied textiles and it gave his work a delicate decorative edge.
Xenz now lives in London and is a pivotal member of the TCF crew. TCF crew is one of the UK’s most admired and respected graffiti collectives and also collaborates extensively with other artists all over the world.

29/4/08 - My own work
This was a photo of a statues head that i took at the Bristol Meseum. I then put in on the computer and printed the photo off in colour. Then i photocopied it and used it as the base to work on top of. Then tore up the original colour photograph and stuck it over the photocopied picture to make this collage.
For my second piece of work i started by studying some of Picasso's sketches. This picture is a self portrait of Picasso. The thing i liked about this picture was that i liked the way he sketched the hair strips, they start off dark and it goes light as the hair gets lighter. I used this picture as an inspiration for my next piece.
This is my version of Picasso's self portrait. I started by sketching my own larger picture of Picasso's self portrait, I then started adding ripped up black and white newspaper and stuck it down as my background. I then used my sketch to cut out templates out of brown paper of each piece of the face and then stuck them down to create the picure of Picasso's self portrait that i drew, then i went round the edges with a thick black pen to make it stand out more.
